We would like to invite you to participate in the 4th SMEOS 2016 Conference! The conference will be held from 12 to 14 September, but delegates will have to arrive on Sunday 11 September and leave on 15 September 2016.

The South African 4th SMEOS 2016 conference will focus on the field of “Sensors, Micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) and Electro-Optical Systems”, with a scope ranging from devices (including materials and processing), through electro-optical systems, to detector applications.

The conference is intended to provide a common forum for international researchers and developers to exchange information about their latest research findings, ideas, developments and applications in all areas pertaining to design, fabrication and application in the fields of interest to the  4th SMEOS 2016.

Plenary and keynote addresses by eminent scientists are included in the conference, and original technical papers are invited for oral and poster presentations(see "Call for Papers").

The Proceedings of the conference will be published in the SPIE Digital Library.

Nature Photo Competition
Since this conference is held in the Kruger National Park, ample time will be allowed for game viewing. As in the past, a nature photo competition will be held. Delegates are encouraged to supply their best photos taken during the conference for display.

ACCREDITATION
The 4th SMEOS 2014 event has been registered for Engineering Council of South Africa Continuing Professional Development (ECSA CPD) credits through the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology (EBIT) at the University of Pretoria, South Africa

Value of the credits: 3 (30 hours)
